Family Death Announcement:

Despo Tsinicola (1914-2010) passed away on 22/01/2010

To our dear Nicos Papanicolaou who left us prematurely on the 29th December 2009.
(From his family in Cyprus)

When a person who is very close to us, a parent, child, brother, uncle, dear friend, leaves us forever, the pain from his loss is unbearable.

When, for this very, very dear person, the news of his passing away is received via a telephone call, it is even more difficult to accept. He left this life….the gentle breath has ceased… The big heart which held an abundance of love for all, has stopped beating, stopped sending its gentle messages.

And ‘you’ who lived a life tied to him, the distance separating you, you were not able to stand by him during his last days, to hold his hand tenderly and give it a gentle squeeze, the hand which is now unable to stroke his hair, his eyes dim and sad, looking at you with affection, to embrace him lovingly, to give him a farewell kiss, is even more painful, more sorrowful.

We, our dear Nico, our kind and affectionate cousin, silently shed our tears, warming your ice cold cheeks, silently we hugged you tightly, we silently sang the final song of grief, lamenting the good times we had, the pain we shared, the tears we shed during our journey through life. Silently we gave, from the depth of our heart, our last wish to you: Goodbye, may your journey lead you to tranquil places and may you rest in peace.

Silently we bid you our last farewell, silently we saw you off on your final journey taking you to beautiful and heavenly realms, in blue vaults of eternal peace, in a select place in God’s arms where you are now, dear Nico. Because your life, from the time we met you, since you joined and became a member of our family until the end of your presence on this earth, humble, modest, kind, handsome, you set a course leading towards Christian practices.

In a foreign land, in England, where you were settled, an exceptional husband, affectionate father, adored brother, you created a brilliant family with our kind, noble and dear cousin Lilia.

Your children, exemplary models, are admired by all, even by strangers. Your Andreas, prominent lawyer, continues on the path that you started, defending the rights and seeking justice for our compatriots in a foreign country. Your dear son, Christopher, also held first place and followed in your footsteps in the legal profession. Your loving daughter, Thessaloniki, in the teaching profession. All three respectable members of society.

We loved you because you gave us reason to love you with you kindness and your humanity.

We ‘bless’ you dear Nicos.
Your deeds, your love, your compassion and generosity, precious gems to adorn your ethereal shape, to illuminate your beautiful name; your memory, a glowing torch in the passage of your life, vivid, everlasting, ageless among us.
Nothing dies when we want to keep it alive within us.

May the soil that has received your venerable body be light; the foreign country, hospitable England, will receive you caringly, will protect you because you were a law abiding citizen, a respected member of its society. May the Hallelujahs, the angels’ hosanna, sing to you melodiously in your eternal and blessed sleep.
